There are many places to visit in the area including:
- Kyrenia - an ancient harbour, with an imposing castle and narrow cobbled alleyways. Countless small
bistros and restaurants which serve traditional Cypriot and Turkish cuisine, though French, Italian, Chinese,
Indian and British fare are readily available.
- Bellapais - 13th century Abbey and village (made famous by the author Lawrence Durrell in his book "Bitter Lemons
of Cyprus").
- Salamis - large, impressive site of Roman ruins
- Crusader castles - several of these are nearby including St Hilarion Castle.
- Karpas Peninsula - beaches, wild donkeys and turtle nesting sites.
- There are also many local beaches and many other places of interest.
